1) Where is your lesson studio located?

Our lesson studio is located at 230 E. Main St. Suite W in Hillsboro Oregon 97123. It’s in downtown Hillsboro on Main Street between Third and Second Streets and is inside the mall next to the Artful Garden on the right hand side of the street as you are driving, one block before the Hillsboro Civic Center. As you walk through the mall, we will be on the right hand side: just look for the Ultimate Music Lessons sign.

2) What instruments do you teach?

We offer lessons for guitar, piano, ukulele, drums and voice. You can choose to learn one or more of these instruments at a time.

3) How often do lessons happen and how long is each lesson?

Lessons are once per week and are thirty minutes in length.

4) Do students have to have their own instrument or will you provide one?

You can begin your lessons without owning an instrument. You may use the instruments at the studio during lesson times only and we strongly suggest that you get an instrument to play at home between lessons as soon as possible to get the most from your lessons.

5) How old do you have to be to take lessons?

The starting age for taking lessons varies depending on the person. We can give lessons to students age three and above if there is a strong level of excitement about learning the instrument. If their excitement level is not at about a seven or above on a scale from 1 to 10, then we recommend waiting until they are a bit older to start.

6) What do students learn in their lessons at Ultimate Music Lessons?

The Ultimate Music Lessons Learning Method allows students to learn up to eight times faster and build complete confidence. Using the latest advances in the nuero and learning sciences and over thirty years of development, this method helps students build a strong foundation of skills, knowledge and musical confidence simultaneously during each lesson. The lessons cover how to play the most important skills on their instrument, the understanding and theory of how music works, cutting edge learning strategies and confidence building techniques. Among many other things, students learn how to speed up learning anything, how to organize their efforts for maximum confidence, how to play their favorite music, how to learn to play any type of music easily, how to write their own songs, how to perform confidently and much more. The lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, the types of music they are most excited about and the student’s and parent’s goals for their lessons.

7) What days and times do you have available for lessons?

We offer lessons Monday through Sunday. During the weekdays, lessons are given between the hours on 3PM to 9PM and on weekends from noon to 7PM. Each student selects a thirty minute time slot that is convenient for them on a regular basis, and these time slots are given on a first come first serve basis. You may change your weekly lesson time to any other available lesson day or time at any point.

8) How long will it take before I can play?

While each student is different in what they are most excited to play and in their level of commitment to playing between lessons, most students can confidently play many of their favorite songs within about seven lessons or less. We ask that you spend a minimum of ten minutes per day completing the simple skill building exercises between each of your lessons as this helps you guarantee consistent progress towards what you are most excited to play. While shorter lengths of times are possible, to get the most from your lessons, we suggest a minimum of six to twelve months in order to begin experiencing your full range of musical confidence and possibilities.

9) How much practice time is expected between lessons?

We ask that you spend a minimum of ten minutes per day completing the simple skill building exercises between each of your lessons as this helps you guarantee consistent progress towards what you are most excited to play.

10) Who are the teachers at Ultimate Music Lessons?

The Lesson Coaches at Ultimate Music Lessons are experienced, educated musicians who are highly trained in the Ultimate Music Lessons learning methods and are experts at customer care. Our Coaches’ number one focus is building our student’s knowledge, skills, excitement and confidence every lesson, every time. We know how important gaining the confidence to explore what’s possible is and our Lesson Coaches deliver this every lesson.

11) Can more than one person be in the same lesson or does each person have to have their own separate lesson?

While our lessons are designed to work best with only one person in each lesson, you may have up to three family members in the same lesson. Students most often learn best when each lesson can be tailored to their exact learning style and specific specific musical interest, but we do offer the ability for parents or siblings to be in the same lesson. There is no additional cost for this.

12) How much do lessons cost?

We offer three lesson packages: a three month, six month or a twelve month package. Lessons are paid per month in advance of each new month. The price per month goes down the longer you choose to take lessons. For our current prices, visit the home page.

13) What is expected of parents?

Parents are encouraged to participate in lessons as much as possible. While it’s not required, parents may always choose to sit in on each lesson and participate in their son or daughter’s learning experience. We expect parents to help get their kids to lessons on time, to help them stay organized at home in completing their weekly skill building missions and to make sure they have all the equipment and materials to do their very best.

14) What happens if I miss a lesson?

If you miss a lesson during any month, as long as you provide us with a 24 hour notice in advance of the missed lesson, you will be issued a make up credit which you can use to reschedule the missed lesson. You will have three months from the date of the missed lesson to use your makeup credit and reschedule the missed lesson. You may reschedule up to two lessons each month.
